Policy Statement

Congregation Beth El Early Childhood Center, recognizes the value of online social media tools for connecting with parents and staff. Our web presence should project a positive image that is reflective of us as a school and community.

Definition:

Social media, for the purpose of this policy, should be understood to include any website or forum that allows for open communication on the Internet including but not limited to: blogs, wikis, micro-blogging sites, social networking sites, virtual worlds, video and photo sharing websites and content published online by Congregation Beth El Early Childhood Center.

When posting and communicating online please adhere to the following policies:

1. Respect the privacy of both staff and children. Meaning that if a parent does not want their child posted anywhere or a staff member does not want to be posted, please respect that decision.

2. Posting of private or sensitive information pertaining to the Congregation Beth El ECC and/or its families and staff is strictly prohibited.

3. Sharing anything posted by individual teachers, i.e. personal lessons, etc. on any social media platform, without written permission from the teacher is strictly prohibited.

Methods of Communication

1. Communication between parents and staff pertaining to Congregation Beth El ECC and the classroom happenings, should be limited to Brightwheel, email, and Google Classroom.

2. The use of personal cell phones as a method of communication should be limited to Lead Teachers and should be used for urgent matters pertaining to Congregation Beth El ECC only.

Policies for Congregation Beth El ECC Employees

1. The posting or sharing of pictures of ECC students on employees personal social media pages is strictly prohibited.
